This variety, introduced in 1916, is still one of the most popular. Its compact size makes it a versatile addition to your garden. Use as an edging or at the front of your mixed border. One of the hardiest varieties of lavender.
Grows best in dry areas with poor soil, so use lavender in hot, dry areas where it is difficult to grow anything else. Requires sharp drainage or the crown will rot. Allow plants to dry between waterings. Does not perform well in heavy clay soils. Will struggle in high humidity with poor air movement. Cut back by 1/3 to 1/2 in spring when new foliage appears. Do not cut back in fall.
