Boysenberry plants are a cross between raspberry, blackberry, dewberry, and loganberry developed in the US. Berries are large with sweet/tart flavor and thin skins, making them difficult to process en masse for grocery stores. To experience boysenberries' flavor, your best bet is to grow them yourself! Use for jams, jellies, pies, pancakes, for sauces in savory dishes. Boysenberries are high in vitamin C and also contain vitamins K and E.
Boysenberries grow on trailing blackberry brambles, which means they need trellises to support them. Can be grown in pots with proper trellis support and full sun. Water at the base to avoid fungus growth. Heat tolerant and self-pollinating. Will begin producing berries in one or two years, fruiting in July.
