Siberian iris are an easy to grow perennial native to Central and Eastern Europe. 'Purring Tiger' has a burst of purple petals atop purple-veined, golden petals.
As with all iris, the Siberian iris thrives in moist conditions. Plant near streams, ponds or other wet areas. Great problem solver for poorly draining areas in your garden! Grow in full sun for the best blooms but in areas with very hot summers, they will appreciate some afternoon shade. Iris spread through underground rhizomes and will form large clumps over time. Dig up and divide every three years to give them some room to grow and you will grace your garden with more of these beauties for free!
An added bonus: 'Purring Tiger' can be grown under black walnut trees! They are not sensitive to juglone.
